Lounging in Linen

If there’s one positive thing to come out of lockdown, it’s the revival of loungewear.

Loungewear has had a boom like no other of late in the fashion space and with good reason – a big portion of the year so far has been spent jumping from bed to couch to fridge to home office, and back again.

And we’ve done it all while looking chic!

The word is out. Lazy is in and couldn’t be better represented than the stylish wearables from Byron Bay-based Deiji Studios.

Deiji Studios was founded in 2016 by friends Juliette Harkness and Emma Nelson with a vision to deliver high comfort, high quality linen pieces that blur the line between sleepwear and ready-to-wear garments.

Driven by an innate sense of style that defies time and age, leg warmers they are not, Deiji was one of the pioneers of the loungewear movement that is now having a big moment.

It seems that every Instagram feed at the moment from local influencer to bona-fide fashionista is showcasing the laid-back, loose and well, loungey look that has made us reach for our online banking details.

With paired back linen sets and separates for women, their classic silhouettes really do exemplify ‘relaxed chic’ at its best.

Sustainability and social conscience are integral to every facet of the company, which promotes ‘slow fashion’ at its core.

Each collection is made from natural fibres such as linen, cotton, silk and bamboo, and manufactured in two small family run factories in China, a wind-powered factory in Japan and also made locally in Australia.

Inspired by Japanese culture, their simplistic core loungewear range is made from the highest quality stonewashed linen, which is hypo-allergenic, highly breathable and environmentally friendly.

Brand founders Juliette and Emma believe women are at their most confident when feeling comfortable, and that their loungewear is designed to blend morning into night.

In summer, they suggest throwing their 03 set over your favourite bikini or to layer the 01 set under an oversized coat for the cooler months.
