How to cheat death with the W212 E-Class

There are certain considerations which should never be compromised, one of which is safety – something Mercedes-Benz illustrates perfectly in this clever ad from 2012, highlighting the reliability of the elegant W212 E-Class sedan.

In the opening scene, we are presented with a driver, coasting effortlessly along a desolate forest road, who is suddenly confronted by the sinister Grim Reaper appearing beside him in the passenger seat.

Shrouded in black robes and clutching a scythe, the Reaper ominously turns and utters “sorry” with an amused smirk. With this, we realise our driver is headed directly towards a large truck blocking the road ahead.

Thankfully, Mercedes-Benz has a secret weapon to avoid impending doom – the E-Class W212. With its advanced break assistant BAS+ technology, the fourth-generation executive sedan allows the driver to safely stop within inches of the truck, escaping a lethal head-on collision.

Ready to master any challenges with ease, the W212 is as dynamic, elegant and luxurious as ever before, and comes loaded with plenty of safety features including front and rear airbags, reverse camera and sensors, ABS, brake assist, stability and traction Control, Lans and blind spot warnings, and much more.

The driver, knowing he has narrowly escaped certain doom thanks to the unparalleled security of the E-Class, turns back to face the now gobsmacked Grim Reaper and with a touch of irony, says, “sorry.”
