Husband-and-wife team, Grason and Simone Kira, both hail from New Zealand and spent many years travelling around the globe.
After seven years in London, they eventually decided to settle on the sunny shores of the Gold Coast where they are currently raising their two boys, West and Chilli.
The couple’s underlying passion for design and architecture manifested when Grason began making his own furniture pieces which, coupled with Simone’s love of interiors, naturally evolved into the creation of Kira & Kira.
“We both have a strong affinity for art and have made a concerted effort to exclusively support Australian artists, providing a large range of original prints, art and ceramics as well.”
From humble beginnings in furniture design and construction at their local workshop, Kira & Kira has since come a long way, flourishing into the full-service design studio and retail space.
Their furniture designs have featured in many of Australia’s leading interior design magazines including Belle and Inside Out Magazine, and on national television for the Kira House project, the couple’s Palm Springs-styled, mid-century modern home in Burleigh Waters.
“Over the years, we’ve been so fortunate to create amazing connections with clients and other small business owners, and nurturing these relationships has played a large part in Kira & Kira’s success,” said Grason.
“Running a business inevitably presents many day-to-day challenges, not the least of which has impacted us all over the past couple of years.
“However, we count ourselves lucky to be surrounded by a supportive community that embraces small businesses and makes the Gold Coast what it is.”
From showcasing their own designs to up-and-coming artists based on the coast, Kira & Kira are proud to help express what is happening within the local community.
