On a good day, the atmosphere at Joy Beans offers enough incentive for anyone to reach for a mug and on a great day, when the scent of roasted beans permeates the air, it\u2019s downright delectable.<\/p>\n
Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Ben and Patty Glennon, Joy Beans has a number of things on the go.<\/p>\n
The inspiration to enter the coffee business began when the couple took a backpacking trip around the world, visiting remote communities in coffee-growing regions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe decided to grab some backpacks, leave it all behind and travel the world, we had no idea the experiences and adventures we were going to encounter, but it was a decision that changed our lives,\u201d says Ben.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe visited numerous coffee farms, met the growers, tasted many cups of freshly roasted coffee and listened to countless stories about the lives and experiences of the people in these remote corners of the world,\u201d says Ben.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was such an amazing experience that we wanted to bring a piece of it back to the Gold Coast and share it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA percentage of our profits goes back to children\u2019s charities located in coffee growing regions across the world including Mision Mexico, Beyond the Orphanage, Surfaid and Skip.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now, Joy Beans has a good thing brewing, supplying organic roasted coffee wholesale and retail, supporting charities they are passionate about and operating a boutique caf\u00e9 in West Burleigh.<\/p>\n
